About Me
I was born in Canada and raised in Brazil, where I worked as a licensed psychologist. While I am not a psychologist in Ontario, these early academic and clinical experiences laid the foundation for the work I do today as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).

In Toronto, I have worked for over 18 years as a gender-based violence counsellor, an experience that deepened my sensitivity to trauma, gender issues, and power imbalance.

I hold a Diploma in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Toronto Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis (TICP).

I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and I am also a member of Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP)

My Practice
I offer psychoanalytic psychotherapy for adults, one-on-one, in a confidential and safe environment in both English and Portuguese.
My work is grounded in the understanding that unconscious processes shape much of our emotional life and relationships.
Influenced by the teachings of Freud and Lacan, I attune to the nuances of language and the distinctive ways meaning emerges in each session. I approach therapy as a space for exploration, where each person's experience is treated as unique and worthy of deep listening

I work with struggles such as:

Emotional Struggles
Depression · Anxiety · Emotional overwhelm · Lingering effects of trauma

Identity and Subjectivity
Cultural belonging · Gender and sexuality · Self-esteem · Inner conflict

Relationships and Attachment
Patterns of dependency · Relational difficulties · Early emotional wounds · Impact of abuse

Life Transitions
Immigration experiences · Career and academic shifts · Breakups and losses · Grief and separation

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy
Rather than focusing on quick solutions, this process invites you to explore your thoughts, feelings, memories, dreams, and associations as they arise, including those that may feel contradictory, painful, or unclear.
Over time, patterns may emerge that reveal how past relationships, unconscious conflicts, and unspoken desires shape your current experience. The aim is not to “fix” symptoms but to create the conditions for deeper understanding, emotional transformation, and the possibility of change.

What to expect
Our work begins with an open conversation about what brings you to therapy and whether working together feels like a good fit.

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is an open-ended process that unfolds over time.

Some clients begin with clear questions or concerns; others arrive with a more general sense of unease, disconnection, or curiosity.

Sessions are conducted in a confidential and safe environment, where you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and emotions.
Frequency and Duration
Each session is typically 45 to 50 minutes long.

Sessions are typically held once a week, though frequency may shift according to the unfolding of the therapeutic process.

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is a process that evolves over time. Its length cannot be predetermined, as it follows the unique pace and depth of each person’s exploration.

The Space
I primarily offer in-person sessions in a quiet office located in a Victorian-style house in Toronto.

The space is designed to be calm, private, and conducive to deep reflection, emotional openness, and the kind of presence that this work often requires.

I also meet with clients in a secure virtual space, particularly those living outside the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Fees and Payments
The standard session fee is $160.
A sliding scale is available in specific cases.

Payment is due at the time of the session by cash or e-transfer. I’ll send you a receipt, which you can use for insurance if your plan covers psychotherapy.
